What did you all think of God of War 2018? I just finished the prologue and fight with “The Stranger”. I’ve never played these games before so I’m not sure what to expect.

Production wise it seems fantastic but I’m not sure about the combat yet and on the “Hard” difficulty it just feels very damage spongy so I brought it back down to normal.
Incredibly overrated.

Combat is repetitive and boring, you can probably count the number of different enemies on 2 hands, story was alright, "RPG" elements is really bland and boring as well.

Was not impressed with this game at all after hearing nothing but good things about it.

Separate post below but was lumped together.

Started up Witcher 3 yesterday and am about 5 hours into it and im finding it kinda "meh".

I can see how this game was well received 7 years ago but nowa days? Meh. Its not really doing that much for me and my biggest gripe with is is probably the combat as well.

Stick it out until you get to Skellige and if you’re still not in love then it’s not for you. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played.

I uninstalled GoW by the way. It feels like all style no substance.

I really didn't like GOW 2018 either. The last few games you beat and rate them IV

That's a lot of words but pretty much agrees with everyone else. Gameplay wasn't fun, story wasn't engaging and felt like it just existed to set up future games. If I hadn't played all the other games I still wouldn't have liked it, but since I have I just... I wasn't even disappointed or upset, I just really didn't care.

Im around the bloody barron part. How far am i off from Skelliege? I just cant get past how bland the sword fighting it.

Yeah thats a good way to describe it. GoW 2018 was just an incredibly generic game to me. Tons of flashy, bright colors and animations but nothing beyond that.

You’re a decent time away from Skellige. You have to be level 16 to go there. Make sure you’re playing at least on the Blood and Broken Bones difficulty, if not Death March. The swordplay could be better but honestly the game is so great with everything else (except Roach) that I stopped thinking about it. Plus there are all sorts of different builds with signs, potions, and bombs you’re not funneled into strict sword play.

Enjoy it very slowly and enjoy the storyline. The main character stories and side quests are both excellent and it’s a huge part of the intrigue. The game took me 200 hours to finish but that’s with both of the huge DLCs and crafting all of the grandmaster gear and swords.

I can’t recommend it enough. It took me a few attempts for it to stick as well but when it does you realize how amazing the game is. I was honestly sad when the game ended.

I started Little Kitty Big City and Pacific Drive. Little Kitty Big City has so much charm and it's surprisingly fun just being a menace to society. Pacific Drive is kind of weird to me, I'm still not sure how to feel about it. I'm about 2.5 hours in and love the concept but I was hoping for a bit more so far. I'm hoping it ramps up a bit from here.

Started Avatar Frontiers of Pandora a few days ago, a few hours in and it is pretty good, nothing earth shattering, but decent. One complaint so far would be it seems the movement on foot is a bit slow, or at least feels like it is

IMO if you get through the conclusion of the Bloody Baron quest and it hasn't grabbed you by then, it might not ever. I would add the caveat that I am a bit of a completionist so that would include side quests (not all the ? though) around that area & your level at the time.

I say this as someone that puts that game in my top 5, possibly the top spot, all time. My first playthrough I struggled to get hooked until that point, then the game flew for me.

Edit: It was at that point I was enthralled with the quests / story / writing.

I finished up the Baron part and uninstalled. I think i'll come back to it later on and give it another shot.

Im in a bit of a "gaming" slump where not a whole lot is interesting me so i think that has something to do with it. I went REAL hard on PoE 2 made it to maps on HCSSF after like 250 hours and may have burned myself out a bit on games.

When I stopped smoking weed gaming (and movies and television) got a lot better for me. Not sure if you smoke or not @Sad People, but when I was I was unable to get immersed in anything so all of these games felt procedural and boring.

lol Na i dont smoke anymore. Just celebrated 4 years of sobriety on the 8th actually lol. But i do understand what you mean.

Every now and again i get burned out on playing games and it usually happens after im done playing a really really good game like BG3, ER and the ER DLC or in this case PoE 2. All games i went really hard on too and played a crap ton and were all on the higher end of gaming experiences.
