It would be a dream come true to crush their dreams in those two games. They have hope now, not deserved by their poor play, only for us to take it away at the last minute for maximum emotional damage.
Detroit has a 46.17 xGF% since Todd's hire, bottom 5 in the league 5on5. (CBJ is actually even worse than them and also has a hot record).

Can’t wait to taste their tears.

Not sure what to make of Detroit. They’re winning when it matters but their underlying mumbers are dreadful and look unsustainable for a winning team. Those numbers were bad last year as well but they still finished with 91 points so who knows?

Montreal’s PDO seems to be catching up to them.

well just like last year their record got worse as time went on.

As long as no one chants 'we want playoffs' after we do.

I don't care about Tampa or Detroit; I just want the Senators to get into the playoffs. Crushing other's dreams is not my objective.

I hate that little shit Alex DeBrincat
I don't hate Debrincat; I just want to see the Senators hit him hard and knock him on his ass with clean checks all game long.

And do the exact same to Larkin who plays dead when hit!

Red Wings have been better but not nearly as good as their record indicates. They've been outplayed by every single playoff caliber team they faced since the coaching change and yet has won multiple of those games usually due to a combination of 3 of the 4:

- Excellent goaltending
- Red hot PP
- Lucky bounces
- Opponent goalies being sieves.

Maybe it's not sustainable I don't know but they have a few things going on for them (Raymond, Kasper and Edvinsson progress this season)

Since the coaching change, they have the best record in the NHL 14-4-1 (tied with Stars, we're tied with Colorado and Montreal at 9th)

18th in CF%, 15th in SF%, 7th in GF%, 13th in SCF%, 22nd in HDCF%, 10th in xGF%

They have been good but obviously are outplaying the expected. It seems that their goalies have been saving quite a lot above expected recently. They rank 5th in PDO. They rank 8th in SH% but they are scoring about as expected.

If you're comparing with our current stretch (9-2-1 since January 11th)

3rd best team by P% (Jets and Caps ahead), 15th in CF%, 13th in SF%, 3rd in GF%, 12th in SCF%, 13th in HDCF%, 7th in xGF%

A bit better than the Wings but not a lot. We're also vastly outplaying our expected goals against. 4th highest PDO, only 23rd in SH%

The Habs have just totally fallen off wow. Sad

Good thing because they might have other good stretches but will come up short and worsen their drafting position, that's all that matters. Plus, they probably won't sell at the deadline, they could have gotten a great return for Evans, for example.

Detroit got 2 goals despite having zero quality chances this entire game.

You don't seem to like the Wings, what's the story lol? Are you Norwegian?

Montreal’s PDO seems to be catching up to them.

Laine and Carrier's honeymoon is also over, goalies are not as heroic, the team lost confidence quickly as opposedly they were very confident in the 17 games prior. Evans and Armia were providing way too much for 3rd liners and have finally cooled off.

Lane Hutson is finally cold, maybe it's the rookie season wall, playing much more than ever before. He has no points in his last 5 games (he had 13 pts in 9 games before that)

Dobes magic also cooled off the last 2 games

Perfect storm to end up losing games, opposite of what was happening before.

Rivalry with my close friend (She's a Red Wings fan) and the DeBrincat fiasco is why I don't. Not to mention I really wanted the Sens to get the first Norwegian in the first round, and yup.

I wouldn't be surprised. I'd rather live in Winnipeg than Detroit.
For a person who isn't rich, I'm sure Canada is better in every aspect than the states.
