Games tonight affecting Sens

Only Detroit can be outplayed by both Edmonton and Calgary and win and have generated zero high danger chances against the Canucks and be leading...
The quality of the west teams is suspect. They may have more points than an east team, but they can never seem to win.

WPG didn't even look dangerous against us and we would have won easily if our goalies were playing as they have been lately (Sogaard .826 that game)

Red Wings are the team that's actually getting goalies to steal them games during both ours and their win streaks. Yes Leevi and Forsberg have played fabulous, but we're at least playing an exceptionally stingy defensive system to help them out, versus the Red Wings bleeding chances and still winning.

Watching Detroit getting hammered by the nucks in the third. It’s been like a 14 minute power play, wings hemmed in big time, all the time. Can’t believe this game is only tied, Detroit look awful.

Detroit got outplayed by every single Western Canadian team and somehow won every single one of them. Detroit has benefitted far more from goaltending than we have in this stretch ngl.

The west is terrible. Only 9 teams really have a chance in the west and 15 are fighting for playoffs in the east.

Their fan base thinks their new coach is a prodigy and their last coach sucked, otherwise they would be #1 in the east without Lalonde. Delusional, but that’s hockey and to be honest Sens have had stretches like them and were also opportunistic, just not half the season like the wings.

Even in games where the Sens got outplayed and won, we at least put up a defensive clinic this season. Detroit is basically relying on a multiple of unsustainable aspects to win. The opposition isn't always going to miss and fumble every chance, along with you getting perfect PP conversion, and your goaltender playing out of his mind.

Agreed. I absolutely despise the wings, hate them more than Leafs and Habs combined which is an unhealthy amount. Vancouver came crashing down to earth this year, this was a good game for them and they still lost. No finish, which is what I thought compared to Sens when our top 6 was MIA, but we bounced back much quicker and have better defence Structure for sure. Here’s to hoping wings finish in 9th again this year, which is ultimate pain for their annoying fan base.

We still have 2 games against them and 2-3 against teams chasing us, so it's in our hands. But it would be nice to get ahead a bit.

Look on the bright side of things, at least you don't have to live in Detroit
