Games tonight affecting Sens

Wonder why we play Tampa back to back both in Tampa next week. They did a lot of that scheduling during the bubble year but not as much since that I’ve noticed.
Was there a game vs Tampa that was postponed earlier this season due to the hurricane in Florida?

70-75% chance of getting to round 1 depending on the site…. When was the last time we were in this position entering February?

Feels good.

Bit nerve wracking looking at the standings though, still so tight!

TB just had the one game in Oct against Carolina rescheduled on account of the hurricane I believe. Must just be a scheduling quirk. Could be Sens only play the Panthers once in Sunrise but had to play Tampa twice away and it saves on doing a second Florida trip.

Maybe we get a CBJ regulation loss tonight
To be honest, I don't think it matters that much. It's way too early in the season to pick and choose which teams we want to win in the wild card race. Right now we're on pace for 93 pts, which is fine and should get us in the playoffs. If Columbus loses, it just means a different team takes their place as the biggest threat to us (ie. Detroit). In fact, Columbus is no threat at all. If they pass us in the standings, we're still in a playoff position. It's Detroit, Boston, Montreal, Rangers, Islanders that are a threat to us.

Right now, I'm way more interested in Toronto, Florida and Tampa. If we can finish ahead of one of those teams, the Metro is completely irrelevant to us.

At the end of the day, the Sens are very firmly in control of their destiny, and the pack below us is way too bunched up to pick and choose who we want to win.

i just want the clearest path for the Sens to a playoff spot. right now CBJ represents the closest threat to that playing tonight. I'd like more distance between us and the Bjs
you can forget the "to be honest" if you are just honest

If we stay in the top 3 then it doesn't matter what NYR, Islanders or Columbus do.

You mentioned worrying about the Atlantic and then listed Metro teams.

Either way, we want a cushion from teams below us so having Columbus lose to Vegas last night would have been great.

Let's hope Utah can beat them tonight.

A nice week in Florida as a reward for their terrible schedule lately. Really hope they take these games seriously though. Would be setup well if we win all 3 games against teams we're fighting with.

Ya they've been a little too hot for my liking. Would like to see a couple of these teams drop hard. Especially Montreal.
