Wings and Jackets both with an ugly/lucky goal to tie it up. Come on hockey gods, do your thing the horse shoes need to fall off eventually.

This upcoming stretch of 4 games, including the back to back against Tampa is going to be huge. We have a real opportunity to open up a wider gap in the standings on them, and narrow the gap ahead.

Tampa and the Sens both play on Saturday (they play the red hot Islanders on a 6 game win streak, 8-2-0 in their last 10, we play Minnesota, on a 3 game win streak, 5-5-0)

We have the extra game in Nashville the night before (on a 2 game losing streak, 6-4-0 in their last 10)

We could walk into Tampa with anything from down 1 point to up 5, and walk out of there with up to a 9 point gap at 66, or absolute worst case, down 5 still stuck at 58.

Over that same stretch, the Panthers play 4 games and the Leafs play 3. If all 3 teams win out, we close the gap to 2 on Toronto, and down 5 to keep pace with the Panthers.

If we can snag wins in 3 out of our next 4, I'll be ecstatic. If we win 2 against Tampa? Doubly ecstatic. If the gods of hockey grace us with a continued outstanding out of town scoreboard?

Oh boy. A rare triple ecstatic. Now that's something.

It’s going to be tough. Between the Nashville game and Florida it’s 4 games in 6 nights on the road. We really need points against Minnesota and Nashville because it’s going to be a gaunlet. Maybe the 3 days they just had off helps.

I don't want to get anyone too excited, but...

We now have an outside chance of achieving our long term franchise goal -- of playing meaningful games down the stretch.

And of course we hit Tampa on a 3rd in 4 traveling from Nashville on less than 24h
A well rested Tampa team waiting for us at home for 2 days after their NYI game
Just play all the 82 games before Christmas and let Vegas play Tampa in may for the Cup every year at this point

If we go 3-2 prior to the all star tournament I’m guaranteeing playoffs.

Wonder why we play Tampa back to back both in Tampa next week. They did a lot of that scheduling during the bubble year but not as much since that I’ve noticed.
