I don't want to lose games, but if we have to lose any of the next 6, the two against Columbus would at least have the upside of making Montreal clinching much more difficult.
Losing the two games against CLB to get them into wildcard 2 would make me feel...

Playoff wildcards are set.

It’ll be Ottawa and Montreal. Good effort by Columbus but it’s not happening.

The Rangers… do not deserve to get in and they won’t.

Happy for Habs fans to be honest.

We still need 3 point spread on CLB and 4 on NYR (will need a point over tie breaker); however, if we beat CLB tomorrow and NYR lose on Monday, then we get our X.

Everyone just needs to purchase tickets now. They are on stubhub.

STH do not resell unless its to Sens fans.
The team has done some stuff about reselling STH playoff tickets. Regardless it won’t be enough, just something we have to accept. Leafs and Habs fill up buildings on the other side of the country and people don’t expext them to fill up a building a stone’s throw away? Not realistic.

We showed upfine against the Habs in 2013 and 2015.

Easier said than done. The problem is that if you list on Ticketmaster, Stubhub, etc, you have no control over who buys it, but selling online outside of the major platforms is risky for both the buyer and the seller, and a lot less convenient than something automated.

For tickets sold to the public, they need some Nathan For You like scheme where you can go into the CTC in person and have a 15 minute appointment where you bring enough evidence to verify that you are probably a Senators fan. Then they should give you a tamper proof bracelet and that should allow you to buy physical tickets in person at the box office.

My point is we don't know who the Sens are facing yet. The closer we are to the end of the season that picture gets clearer. Release them earlier where the probability of playoffs is almost 100 percent, opponent is still most likely unknown and give access to non seat members that are Sens fans to purchase tickets.

There are a bunch of tickets already on stub hub selling for 250 per ticket.

What I don't get is why is the team waiting so long to release single game playoff tickets.

Sens are practically in. Release it for everyone to buy before the matchups are determined.

As of a few days ago we had a 60 percent chance of not facing Toronto. I don't know if it makes more sense or less sense to wait for that to resolve before selling to the general public. But the reality is that if SSMs get access to single game tickets, there probably will be none left for the series if we seed against Toronto.

They sold over 10,000 seats so far, and I believe all of those were full playoff commitments, which likely stopped some people from buying because they might not want to commit what could possibly be thousands of dollars if we go on a run.

They seem to be using this to market the idea that you will miss out by not being a season seat member, which starts at about $1200. They want the people who missed out on tickets to know it was because they didn't have an SSM package. Anybody who is looking at first round tickets and lives in the city probably spends enough for a Sens-On-Demand or half season package, so there is a large uncaptured market of fans who just buy single game tickets on Stubhub but spend enough that they could support the team directly.

The cheapest option for Sens on demand is 2500 I believe? I do not see the 650 option.

The access you are talking about is going entirely to season seat members. People who aren't SSMs will get to fight over whatever is left, if anything is left. They have been pretty clear that the general public shouldn't expect to get tickets since they will only get access as a last resort if any are remaining. They have sold 10k+ full playoff packages, so it's not like they aren't selling playoff tickets yet.

The messaging is clear, they want people to convert their dollars away from individual games/the secondary market, and support the team directly. Something like $1200 or so is the minimum it takes to become an SSM and it can be paid monthly. The price can also be subsidized by selling off a few regular season games. So with how accessible it is cost wise, there is a large market of hardcore fans who are too comfortable with how easy it is to buy tickets on the secondary market and never subscribe to the team.

Granted, I don't think playoff tickets will normally be this hot, but the message they are giving is if you want guaranteed access to playoffs, you have to be an SSM. I think that is fair but I get people who are annoyed because they expected single game tickets and feel like they are missing out.
