Games Tonight Affecting Sens

The Islanders are awful lol. All these teams behind us have chances to move up, and they can't do it...MTL, NYI, NYR, DET...only team that's worthy is Columbus...
Which is why it's very important to win against CBJ. That being said, funny enough, even if we lose all 3 in regulation to them, we still win the tiebreaker.

The Canadiens and Panthers play each other two games in a row.

This is interesting because it effects the Senators in two ways. Montreal, who are fighting for one of the two WC spots with the Senators, and Florida who are fighting the Leafs for the top seed in the division. It's looking very likely that we will face the top seeded team in the Atlantic.

Florida, Tampa, and Toronto are in a virtual 3-way tie. Even know they have almost certainly guaranteed playoff spots, they still have something to fight for since home ice advantage is so valuable in the playoffs.

The crazy thing is if we had a bit more luck with injuries throughout the year (Norris/Pinto/Ullmark/Jensen/Zub/Perron/Amadio/Cousins) I’m pretty sure we would be right there with all of these teams.

Especially the games where we missed both Pinto and Norris (and Tkachuk) and other guys those games were automatic losses. Forsberg lost us a few games.

Obviously every team deals with injuries but if we were a bit more healthy we would probably have 88-90 points right now.

The funniest thing is even with our easy schedule and Detroits hard schedule, Detroit might not see a single opponent resting their stars as Toronto could still be fighting for 1st or 2nd in Atlantic in their final game. Whereas Carolina basically has 2nd secured in all but name in the Metro for our final game against them.

Hmmmm the Panthers and Habs facing each other two more times is annoying. I just hope the games end in regulation losses. Would love if MTL wins both and finishes 9th on the conference and hopefully loses out on the final WC spot by something stupid like regulation wins on the last game of the season after losing in a SO.
