i also noticed that looking at the standings last night. Gonna be some crazy stats looking back at these last couple weeks once we know who won the lottery.Washington can drop by 4 places in lottery if they win I think and others have to lose too of course.
there isn't a lineup we can put out there tonight that shouldn't dominate an ovechkin/oshie-less Capitals team.waiting nervously for lineup updates. I hope Lindy doesn't punt
Funny that his rookie season he scored a goal in the last game against the Caps to get to 20, now he has a chance to do the same but for 80 points. And both years we made the playoffs.
Tbh it feels weird cause it’s so early and we’re so young still with many top prospects still to come, but we definitely have the talent to make a run this year.haha i keep thinking "no way we go for the cup"
but every team is def thinking the same thing. why not us? super excited for playoffs
Beyond the Caps missing Oshie and Ovechkin (and Orlov and Hathaway), fans have the pitchforks out for Kuznetsov for his lazy play this year. Devils should torch this team even with some peculiar lineup decisions. Strome’s the only guy to worry about, i think.
I want a Blackwood shutout on top of all of the above!I'll be there.
I want the division and our first Metro banner.
I want 100 points by Jack Hughes.
I want 52 wins to break the Devils win record.
I want Palat to score a f***ing goal.
LETS GO DEVILS!!!
If someone told me at the beginning of the season that we would be battling for playoff position in game 82, I would be f***ing overjoyed and thought we would be battling with someone for the final wildcard spot on the final day of the season. Maybe even a battle with Washington to determine who the WC2 is.
We are in game 82 with a chance at winning arguably the most competitive division in the NHL. We are in game 82 with a chance at ending 2nd place in the entire NHL with the biggest year over year points improvement in NHL history and a chance at the best regular season in franchise history. We have a certified superstar on our hands in Jack Hughes who just broke the Devils scoring record at 21 years old. We have the best young 2-way star center in the league in Nico Hischier who might put up 80 points while being at least a Selke finalist. Dougie just finished 2nd in the NHL in defenseman scoring and broke the franchise defenseman goals record. We have Timo f***ing Meier who hasn't even scratched the surface of his potential with this core.
What a f***ing season. Unbelievable. It still doesn't feel real. 10 years of hardships, suffering, shit teams, bad coaching, and everything in between, and somehow, it seems like it was all worth it seeing the payoff right now. This is the beginning of a new era of Devils hockey. The first year of the future is here and I couldn't be more excited seeing the way this team has come to form.
It's game 82, and the season isn't over yet. LFGD!
Summed it up perfectly! LFGD let's keep this ride going! If someone told me at the beginning of the season that we would be battling for playoff position in game 82, I would be f***ing overjoyed and thought we would be battling with someone for the final wildcard spot on the final day of the season. Brendan Smith:
1 goal breaks his record for goals as a Devil (currently 0)
3 points for Hughes would make him just a shame rather than a disgrace, while if Hischier gets two points, he'd manage to claw his way to a milder disappointment. Both would be proud of that.I just want Jack to get 3 more points and Nico to get 1 more.
