Stats aren't everything. When he's on the ice he makes smart plays, turnovers are a rarity, he's exceptionally physical...yeah he's not the 30 goal Doan we used to know, but he is a huge part of the team's success. You have to pay attention to the little things he does, with and away from the puck.

Other than that, the dude is the most loyal and dedicated advocate to this team. A Coyotes fan saying Doan sucks is like blasphemy.

Like I said, I am probly one of the biggest Doan fans on this board.

Doan has been a turnover machine all season. He often slaps the puck around now without looking for a play, something he never did before. We all love Doan, but there is no reason to hide is very poor play. All we can do is hope he rebounds.

BTW, NHL Player Derek Morris appeared to have a much better game than his debut back from injury.

Hell of a win tonight, we dominated the third and overtime. Probably the most exciting game of the year!! And best of all it was nice to Sully finally hit the scoresheet.

Doan needs to follow in DeMo's path and lose 20lbs, he was never that quick, but you can see the regression in his skating just from last season...and a terrible cry from 2008 remember when he scored the winner against San Jose, he was all over them that night.

Anyway, he needs to lose 20lbs to get some of his quickness back. He needs to be reminded that as we get old we need to help the legs out a bit.

Oh, just got back, great game, the crowd was really into it tonight.

I still can't believe that we came away with the win...but we really do need Vrbata and Hanzal back against the Ducks...Getzlaf just does whatever he wants out there and no one can push him off the puck, it's annoying. I always enjoyed watching Marty shut him down over the years...he and Thornton.

Bods needs to stick with the forehand backhand move...works a lot better.

Btw, OEL can just flat out stop a 1-1 defensively all night long, besides the 1 time he got beat by Toews, I can't remember a time that he doesn't tie up the guy or just flat out knock the puck away or just take it. Quite remarkable from a 21 yr old as he did it against Ryan, against Perry twice and I think Selanne once.

He's going to make a lot of money in his career, hopefully it will always be in a Coyotes sweater.

Just got back. That was the most fun game since last season's playoffs. The crowd was completely into it, and the only lull was the first half of the second period, where it was clear that both teams were told to play more cautiously.

That third period may have been the best I've ever seen the Coyotes play in the offensive zone. Just sustained pressure no matter which line was out there.

I continue not to be impressed by the 2013 Mike Smith. Yes, he made some stunning saves and was great in the shootout, but as Barry Melrose says, "it's the saves you don't make." It seems like he's allowing one or two goals that are not soft, but stoppable by an NHL goalie. Cogliano's second goal that canceled our momentum seconds after Korpi's goal was this game's example.

I love defensive defenseman, so watching Klesla and especially OEL do the little things has been great this season. Morris looked very good tonight, and Yandle, well, he was lucky that some of his dangling attempts didn't burn him.

That PK in the first period in which the entire two minutes were in our zone was amazing. Toward the end of it, Vermette only had to skate a few feet to get to the puck, but he was too gassed to do even that. Really dodged a bullet against some skilled Ducks players there.

Dude, do i have a "kick me I'm an ***hole" sign on me or something?

We're just talkin hockey boys, relax...or I'll call in an airstrike on this *****...;)

Haha sorry, I just don't want you mistaking me for someone that hates Doaner. Becasue there are a few on this board that do (not mentioning names).
I understand how important he is to this team.

I also wish Smith would start saving the ones that "need" and "should" be saved. I understand he makes some remarkable saves, but c'mon, 3 of the 4 goals tonight shouldn't have happened. They didn't happen last season and I sure hope that GMDM uses games like this to keep Smith's new contract on the 'low' side.

I don't want to pay him over $4m...that is way too much, when we can get someone on a flyer and have them put up above a 910 save pct...and Smith currently isn't above that

Less and less money coming Smith's way at this rate.

Wow, why can't games I go to be this good.

WTF was with the reffing too. Blatantly ignoring penalties committed by the Ducks. Normally I'm not one to complain about it but damn...
