Had to be difficult for those announcers to call the rest of that game after the Crosby goal. They were dick riding him hard and then the Caps went beast mode lol

Thought it was just me thinking that way. There was a whole lotta "Sid" and "the Pens" early but Washington said "watch this @#$*".

Ovi was awful but hard to be upset about anything after beating the Pens like that on national TV.

Sid just got to play with a defense consisting of Makar, Toews, Morrissey, etc and then came back to that. And EK65 looked really good in the tournament as well and then looked meh today. I don’t actually understand how Pittsburgh is that bad.

Pitt needs to revamp their Defense and add some youth to the Forward core and maybe lose Nedeljkovic he's not very good...I'd go with Jarry and Blomquist they are younger and much better though Tristen has gone through a rough patch

Jarry has gone through more than just a rough patch. Pens basically exiled him to the Baby Pens! They gave him a #1 goalie contract he has never lived up to. Jarry makes the Pens worse then Ned/Blomqvist. I would not be surprised if they bring him back up at some point to really tank for that gifted 1st pick overall.

I do(not to rub it in, in any way). Pens mortgaged a lot of their future to win 3 Cups with Crosby/Malkin/Letang/Fleury. Caps have won 1 Cup(will never forget it!), but have paved a far better long term path of being a good/competitive team. I would be surprised if the Pens don't at some point reach the top again with the big handouts from the league again.

Ov is not awful, as he's just playing his age compared to the rest of the younger league of players. OV can still put up points here and there(more so goals), but never will I trash him for being awful, when he's given us Caps fans so much to cheer for over his whole career. We have seen OV is a little more streaky scoring goals this season.

I'm hoping a precautionary since the Caps blew out the Pens. No need to risk it sort of thing. If he can't go 2morrow, then next man up mentality.

I have never liked Crosby, but I could never imagine him playing for another team. Gretzky did, but OV/Crosby aint playing for nobody else!

The fact that he's never had a cap hit higher than 8.7 million and they still managed to completely f*** that roster up, is astonishing.

Why is it astonishing? Rutherford waged the teams future to win 3 Cups, as a lot of teams haven't even won 1 Cup in the same time period. OV only makes $800k per year more, and McPhee messed up Caps rosters with poor d-men and goaltending.

I've said this several times in the past but for me this is the key play #1 in the 2018 playoff run.

Willy's hit switched the moment in that game. Pens stopped to play hockey, Caps were behind and won the game. Imagine if we lose this game, then the next one as we did is 3-1 for the penguins in the series and we know it's over.
