Man Ovechkin is a liability for like 9 shifts out of 10. Sure nobody cares at this point but I feel a lot of struggles of the top line have come from him being unable to contribute to a steady transition up ice and they therefore are often caught chasing the play without the puck.

A bit. Crosby is one of the better players that can shoot the puck well on his back-hand.

The past three months of getting routinely outplayed and outshot by other teams. This teams top six is pretty bad to say the least, they posses almost no offensive zone time. This game pretty much shines a light on everything the caps are terrible at... top six play, face off wins, dumping but being the last to the puck. It takes superhuman efforts every so often and breakdowns to score goals for this team. This kind of play doesn't yield good results in the playoffs.

Meh. I was a Thompson skeptic before it was cool (before he got paid) but I can live with a softie if it's off of a Crosby backhand.

I guess you don't watch the NHL much in comparative to the NFL/NBA/MLB. In the NHL, bottom teams are more likely to beat or compete with the top teams. Caps/Pens games are mostly close games, no matter how good or bad the other team is.
