Grzelcyk blows. Dubas really has a type. Players that aren’t very good at hockey.

This team has an aversion to any kind of defenseman with size who actually plays physical. Graves is big, like Dumoulin, but he's a puss, like Dumoulin, so Dubas figured he was a competent replacement. I don't hate Graves nearly as much as the pathological obsessive types on here -- he is what he is, a soft player who isn't very bright and who desperately needs a solid RHD partner. Which he never has had here, and likely never will.

So what does Doobie do a year later? Brings in a smaller, softer LHD to play in the top 4. Another massive swing and a miss. Gryz is just a more experienced, less clueless, less deer-in-the-headlights, higher-IQ version of the execrable POJ. Still, that's hardly what we need.

Maybe in Year 3 our esteemed GM will finally figure it out.
