Honestly I was more referring to the turnstile motion he did after he lost the puck. The turnover was unfortunate, but he was literally just spinning around in place doing nothing trying to follow the puck and left Ludvig along on a 2 on 1.

I don't think Malkin particularly helped there but that was some pretty bad defense from Karlsson. Feel for Ludvig, he's probably going to get benched by Sullivan for that even though it wasn't his faul.

I think one of the reasons he's a bit sketch defensively is he's always analyzing the play. That works brilliantly when the puck is on his stick because he's patient and sees options but sometimes on defense you just have to react and play fast.

Like Letang can be good in those corner areas because he just doesn't think and just goes man child mode lol
