This is why Leafs management can no longer mortgage the future, they need their young prospects.another guy that just doesn't give a shit most of the time.
Our entire core is sus. I foresee another decade of 1st round bounces. Dubas and Shanny did too much damage to fix.
McMann and Knies will be the keepers up front for sure. Due to circumstance, they will build around Matthews and Nylander for their "star power":
The depth that I worried they were going to never achieve when they signed those awfully overpriced RFAs has come to fruition far worse than I imagined.
The off season needs to be the place to pick up players. Make a move or two by Friday but it cannot be an overpayment. Let them swim for their final year and then make the tough choices so you can build depth from $3-4M players who have what it takes to commit to winning.
The problem is, you just KNOW that management and ownership want to run it back. It;s just so easy to run what is a government agency who simply prints money. There is no expectation or demand of success.
