I don’t see anything systematically wrong with this team. They were in control and headed toward good results when Svech gave Columbus a completely unearned opportunity to steal the momentum.

The goaltending is a concern, but even at that, it shouldn’t be as big of a deal as it’s becoming in a game like this one.

Goaltending isn’t even a big concern. Koochie had a couple rough games coming off injury but has otherwise been stellar this season. Raanta has been good enough to win games and we’ll have Freddie, who was phenomenal last year, coming back soon. I think this is the best group of goalies we’ve had under Rod easily.

That’s an atrocious call. The only explanation is that the ref was looking elsewhere when that play developed.

The good news is that the game-management handbook says they owe us one.
