he is an amazing puck carrier and passer. Now, can he take faceoffs ?

He doesn’t need to be a C. I feel like the best parts of his game would be wasted there due to the need to focus on defense barring some kind of miraculous development curve. He probably turns into some kind of poor man’s Datsyuk at C, which would be something like Plekanec. No thanks. At W, he can become an elite offensive contributor, and as long as he’s at least average defensively there, which I believe he will be, I won’t complain. Wouldn’t hurt to give him a shot at C if he wants it, but I wouldn’t start planning for it or try to force him there like what happened with Drouin. Hopefully this management is smarter than that.
