It's going to be a lot more in depth scouting with Russians for sure. I bet a lot of them are going to gladly jump to West and NA as soon as it's possible for them. How many Russians returned to KHL after last season? None of those who are good players in the NHL. But no doubt some of them want to stay, and if that's the case then they can f***ing stay there forever as far as I care.

It's not that, though. Russia has already prevented at LEAST one Russian player from leaving (Ivan Fedotov). Dude was sent off to a military base to rot.

It is really f***ing bad right now. Just can't risk a high draft pick on one.

You do realize that RUSSIA can ban their players from leaving and already literally have done so, correct? You can't possibly not get this.

Ivan Fedotov has literally been disappeared. He was arrested in July, sent to a military base, and no one has heard from him since. His agent finally confirmed he was at a base.

Certain Russian guys are not going home. I don't believe Shesterkin went home over the summer.

I get it, I just think if there's a Russian player the Rangers really like they should take him.
