Game 86: Caps @ Cans

Strome playing like a legitimate 1C wasn't on my bingo card, but I'm here for it. Need more from Dubois besides zone entries and off-puck body positioning. More from Wilson beyond huge hits would help too, but he got his money's worth tonight.

Beauvillier with his lowest TOI of the series so far. Gotta assume it'll be 8-17-21 up top on Wednesday. Would not at all be surprised if it's Leonard coming out for the Big Professional.

Alexeyev - TVR looked better, but Alexeyev at under 10 minutes of TOI is a worry. Really hope they close it out in 5 to avoid Carlson/Chychrun/Roy playing any more than they need to.

God bless Logan Thompson's leg.

TVR was a solid addition to this team. Amazing how long it's been since he started in the NHL too seems like yesterday with Chicago.

Don't love AA getting ~9 minutes, but I also get that road match-ups are hard.

Having said that, what a fantastic road hockey game. The caps did not play their best (see: PP & PK), but they stuck to their plan, played physical, managed the puck very well, and actually finished their f%&(ing chances for a change.

Dewey was exceptional. I also spotted Beauvillier out late with Dowd/Dewey a few times. Wonder if that's a preview of game 5 with Protas back on the top line? A man can dream.

AA may have saved the game on that 3-1. We would have be F'ed if they scored.
