Greetings from a Blackhawks fan from Chicago!

I am a friend of your moderator Fenway, and I'm just posting here to wish your team good fortunes here! It would be sad that our Original 6 brethren missed the playoffs a second straight year. Go get it done!

Thanks Amigo :)

I do know you would not be sad if Detroit wound up with an early tee time

Of course everyone wants to avoid the Caps but the Bruins likely threw away that opportunity with this horrendous stretch . At this point ,just hoping we get in . Our best bet is a Flyer loss on the weekend . I anticipate both the Bruins and Wings winning but anything is possible when you have three teams ( Flyers ,Bruins, Wings ) who have been as inconsistent as they have been lately . Anybody going to try to watch the two games at the same time tomorrow ? I am going to try .

An early game that I'm not complaining about....and the Wings game on at the same time. Very long day..... so

Please win Bruins, please win Rangers..... :handclap::handclap:

the teams out of it can be more dangerous. they have players that are audition for better positions and in case of young players jobs in the lineup. None of the games by all teams involved will be a cake walk

Well had the Bruins done their job in the Carolina game (or really the Devils game or any others they should have won) they wouldn't have to be hoping for Detroit and the Flyers to lose.

I'm not too hopeful. Detroit knows it has to just win today and the Rangers are helping them by sitting their starting goalie and some of their best players. Maybe the call ups will play hard and go for the win but the Wings have more to play for today than the Rangers. I agree the Pens may not have anything playoffs related to play for but they hate Philly and would love to knock them out. Of course that means we get the Caps and Holtby.

My gut says once again we are picking 14th but I'm hopeful things will work out today and the Bruins will be the third seed in the Atlantic.

It's time !!! I will be watching the game today which is unusual since I usually go to Temple and pass on Saturday afternoon games.

Question to put out there:

I'm tempted to make this a separate thread.

Are the Bruins better served by squeezing into the playoffs or missing and getting a lottery pick ?

I'm kind of in the middle on this, but I'd rather they make the playoffs at least at the moment.

It really angers me that, had they picked up just one additional point during that horrid stretch of games, we wouldn't be praying to Jobu over this tiebreaker ********.

As Coach Bill would say, "It is what it is". We have to win this game and pray the rest of the day for a good bounce.

Squeezing in the WC2 spot. It took me awhile, but I figured that out a couple of nights ago.

It'll give players like Pasta and Spooner their first playoff experience. It'll protect Julien from the unwashed masses who want him fired. It'll give the team confidence going forward next season - they don't have to worry that next year might be year 3 of the playoff drought.

Tanking only gets you the worst lottery chances available. It's 1% for first, and it can't be much more than 3% for any top 3 pick. Otherwise, we just go from 14th pick to 16th pick. I haven't studied the draft class, but my gut tells me that can't be that much better.

As for today's game, heard Hammond is in net. I also happen to know that they sell burgers at the Garden. Hopefully our crack security team will be on high alert. A whole bunch of Sens are staying at home from what I heard...so, we have a chance.

We have a pretty good shot according to Vegas. Both the Rangers and the Bruins are in the -225 to -230 range, meaning you've got to bet $225 to win a measly $100. That's about a better than 2-to-1 shot. If you assume that the free market is right, we might be in for a treat. And the flyers are at a -125, which is basically a slight favorite when you take into account the vig. GO B'S!
