Post-Game Talk: GAME 82 - HIBERNATION BEGINS with a costly overtime loss

The Flyers only need a tie.

We are tied in pts right now at 76.

The Bruins have the tiebreaker with regulation wins.

Philly gets one point and they end up with 77
They wont win they absolutely have no reason to. They arent battling Buff for a draft position. They know they get the fourth with a loss. Bruins gave a flat out full playoff effort for absolutely no reason AND STILL LOST.

That point might cost them a spot, but the Pens game did more damage both in being a win and a road game where they could have rested their better players and completely mailed it in and nobody would have cared. I appreciate that at home you're rather obliged to make some kind of effort, especially when it's the last game of the season.

But we will see what the Flyers do. I reckon they lose in regulation but you never know. It was nice to see some good stuff from Lysell, Dino, Farinacci and Minten anyway, plus the usual from Pasta and Geek.

Even pick 5 is a pretty fair tanking effort given where they were where at the deadline. In that sense, you'll take it.

Fairwell and good riddance to a lousy season. Hello to an interesting and hopefully productive offseason. Thanks everyone for the comments, chat, laughs and banter over the journey. Thanks @Fenway, @Gee Wally and the rest of the mods for all your efforts as always.
No, it really wasn't. I get that some posters lean positive, but the Bruins tonight had nothing to gain tonight, just precious draft position to lose.

For the people raging on posters who want the best possible draft outcome for the Bruins. You got your wish, the Bruins collected their point!

Shit show.

Now we need to rely on shitty teams to win their final game, lol.
Be interested to see how flyers approach last game knowing a loss gets better odds of better pick

A full season of watching the most disjointed crappy, no heart, poor initiative team BLOW and then in two games to give away a high draft pick is just the icing on the fact that we've been thru 7+ years of feast and now possibly 7+ years of famine. All due to stupidity, laziness, and bad luck.
Tonight the Bruins took luck out of the equation and
acted as though they won something worth winning by
screwing their future. A shitty decision here, a poor play there, a win when you should lose is just ridiculous.
The fans I guess got their money's worth for one night but
in the long run, what a waste!

I understand that, but what's the point in being miserable about it? I like seeing the kids in particular do well, no point in begrudging them their progress. Players don't tank (mostly), organizations do. If Sweeney was really serious about the Bruins finishing as far down as possible, he should have found excuses to rest Pasta and the like. They didn't, so here we are. That's on them, not the players.

And I get it would be a bit frustrating to miss on pick 4 when it was there for the taking, but again I say 5 is pretty good viewed in context. What matters most now is getting the pick right.

For all the tankers out there Buffalo has just as much motivation to tank on thursday as Philly does,. It could still be a 2-3 space move in the lottery for Buffalo depending on whether they win or lose. Could be an epic ugly game if you believe teams like Boston Buffalo and Philly should be trying to lose

What about all the people raging about Lysell not getting a fair chance with the B's?

Well he got his shot tonight and made a pretty good play.

People seriously need to chill over whether we pick 4 or 5 or whatever......
