Our breakout / transition game is based on long passes but when our D is waiting 20 seconds behind our net he's then left all alone with immobile targets 90 feet away.

If you want to base your transition on long passes you have to act fast.

Funny seeing Sportsnet analysts unanimously agreeing that Suzuki came to play but people here are saying he's concussed, playing like trash, and not good enough of a leader.

Because he has a higher gear. He drives that line. Caufield and Slaf are second fiddles. He's not been where he can be.

Yes it does. He used to be a legit top 5 goalscoriny threat in the NHL.

It was probably just a real good streak for him, not the normal. 37 goals is still already good for him this year. Expecting anything more (meaning a 50 goal scorer) was delusional expectons. He just doesn't have it in him. I always saw him like a kind of Alex Debrincat, which is exactly what he is right now. A streaky one dimensional undersized winger with 30 - 40 goals per season. If you expect anything more, it is setting you up for disappointment.

I wouldn't hesitate to trade him for a legit 2c to play with Demidov.

Kid scored 37 this year and Laine is taking all the shots on the PP since December. Most of his goals are on 5on5

Nothing wrong with his shot. But his shot volume is way down. He seems to like passing a lot more and while that makes sense sometimes, he needs to shoot the puck.

It's the same thing. We really need some upgrades in the skill area. It's so hard to watch a bunch of players try to create offense when they aren't capable of it.

Yea, I'd put him on the first line too. Demidov needs puck touches and Suzuki - Caufield will get him more touches compared to Laine - Newhook

A good streak? He was like this for his whole life before his injury.
