Teams have adjusted and Laine has been pretty much made ineffective. Slaf stands in front of the net and is strong at retrieving pucks. Yes Laine has about 15 power play goals but when was the last one?
Also, Caufield has a lethal shot too.

And Laine's is better he is literally one of the best PP weapons in the league. If you are taking him of PP1 just bench him at that point.

If MSL is smart he would remove Laine from the PP, insert Caufield in his spot and add Demidov.
Laine is one dimensional and seems to be having a difficult time with the speed of the game.
I'd be tempted to keep Laine on PP1, but bring him on after we have solid possession in zone since he's a goddamn nightmare on the zone entries with his softness on the boards and complete lack of hands.

Seriously, after all the windshots from newhook last game he's still centering demidov?....
Our center depth sucks big time

Also I have no faith in the hot chocolate drinker montembault, dobes deserve that opportunity, people have been saying play the players that are hot, well dobes has been hot for a week, i hope newhook gets a concussion and wakes up with his head deflated

Go habs go

The problem on our PP is teams know there is no left handed threat on the opposite side so they overplay Laine's side since if he's covered our PP is unlikely to do anything.

Demidov would be a threat to shoot on the opposite side which would help allow Laine to be more open to use his shot. Demi is also capable of making cross ice passes to Laine which makes our PP much more unpredictable, this instead of the puck getting passed back to Hutson/Suzuki every time to set up a Laine one-timer.

Of course it's my opinion and no way Marty would do that.
Laine is one of the most one dimensional players I have ever watched play.

I won't lie, since Chicago's putrid performance I already have the taste of defeat in my mouth, no clue how they rally to win against Carolina after that and there's no way Columbus loses tomorrow.
Hope I'm wrong!

The only hope tomorrow is sorokin pulls off a magnificent performance

Which is why Demidov should replace Caufield, who has no role on the PP. Stick and leave Slaf in front of the net.

It also doesn’t help that, as good as Hutson is, his shot is zero threat.

When Heineman was in Laval he scored several Laine like goals from the right side. I know he isn't the solution tonight but maybe next year.

He doesn't deserve that level of disrespect. He blocks shots, gives it everything he has. I wouldn't call him useless.

He blows, he's awful, he's not blocking shots that fat piece of junk is falling down and getting in the way.
