Doesn’t make sense to risk a guy who always gets hurt. He shouldn’t be playing the final two games.
But they'd want to give him some games so that he doesnt come in cold in the POs, wouldn't they?

He should have done it in the middle of the 2nd period against the Hawks, it was so obvious that the kid produced tons of scoring chance and that the 1st line was going nowhere......recognising that he should have use all the energy Demidov was bringing by playing him with our best players.

I hoped to see Demidov with Suzy and Caufield togheter at yesterday practice and Demi on the 1st unit.......but no, now i'm hoping to see that starting the game but i doubt it.....hope i'm wrong.

I'm also hoping he doesn't wait to long tonight before making that decisions if things doesn't go our ways tonight.

So, to resume i have hope lol.

I doubt MSL does this, but now that we know Heineman's playing, I'm thinking it'd be interesting to see him on a line with Demidov.

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Heineman-Newhook-Demidov
Anderson-Dvorak-Gally
Laine-Evans-Armia

Some would say the 2nd line is weak defensively, but we have home ice, give them favourable matchups. Heineman has the skill and the shot to bury chances created by Demidov.

Add Kapanen next year and I'm kind of loving the infusion of Russian/Swedish/Finnish talent, we haven't had that in a while.

Yes, he's good at developing talent, no arguments here.

But what else has he shown? Certainly not adaptability when things don't work out, and you're not winning the cup without it. He deserves the rope to see if he can get there (there's no way and no reason to fire him this offseason), but he also deserves some criticism, mainly because of the stubborness he's shown in the way he does things.

You know what they say about the definition of insanity...
I question his approach a lot. I think he has great hockey IQ and coaches how he would have liked to be coached. He seems like a phenomenal motivator, that can translate his passion and IQ into meaningful direction. He lacks experience for sure, but i see a progression there too - i dont hear about concepts anymore and the defense style is no longer about man to man. He seemed to want players to play their way to meet the goals that he sets, but somewhere along the way, he realized that he needs a better foundation, however minimalistic it needs to be.

If he had a giant pile of snow to move and he just tells them "do it your way, just get it done", then some players would show up with shovels some with plows and some with flamethrowers. He basically figured out that it will be a lot more sensical - and by definition = more effective if he suggests that other players will probably opt for a flamethrower.

I think MSL will grow with the team and either succeed with them, or be replaced by Pascal Vincent.

My prediction for tomorrow

-In the first 4 minutes Habs will get 2-3 scoring chances, all created by Demidov but they won't score.

-At the 6th minute mark , a shot will be deflected on one of our D. A very unlucky goal.

-2 min later we'll get penalized and Canes will score on their pp.

-Somewhere in the 2nd period we will get a pp on a delay of game penalty. We will get scored.

-The rest of the game will be a frustrating affair. Canes will shut us down without sweating.

3-0 Canes

I hope I'm wrong but how f***ed it would be if I end up being 100% right lol.

We will lob the puck in the center zone 150 times and attempt long passes that will end up being icings 57 times.
Why would you take 5 minutes to write this?

That would be the dream but we know MSL won't go that far.

We can all try that in NHL25 at 5PM and beat the Canes 10-1 (1 goal against due to ice tilt).
I don't think MSL will start like that, but I personally believe that's how the lines will look like come the end of the game. I also wouldn't be shocked if he took Slaf off the pp for him!
