Yeah, they lose tonight and this board will be scorched Earth.

If we lose tonight, I'm taking a few days off this board. There's no way I'm subjecting my mind or soul into absorbing the repugnant moronic toxicity that's sure to follow.

I'd rather walk away head up high and healthy, knowing this team has given us far more than we could have expected. It's been a great season, tonight, as disappointing as it will be with a loss, won't change that.

Go Habs!

Past 25 games

6 - 16 - 3

In those 25 games, we scored 47 and gave up 79.

And just to keep up current trends, in those 25 games, we were outshot by almost 5 shots PER GAME in those 25 games.

To make things worse, in the last 11 games, our record stands at 1 - 9 - 1.

Woof.
It is horrific, but at the same time, I question it's relevance. We play the Hurricanes 3 times a year, the Habs haven't iced a playoff team (excluding COVID stuff) since 2016-17, which covers most of those games. The last 11 games covers while the Habs were a lottery team and the Hurricanes were one of he top teams in the NHL. I don't think the recent record is reflective of where both teams are at now.

I didn't realize the Habs have the worst PP in the league in April.
I'm not sure why it takes so long for Marty to make changes in was crap in March too.
11% PP over the last 12 games (and probably longer), the only other worst in the league is Anaheim (5.7%).

Need to get Laine out of the 1st PP tonight.
He brings nothing than is shot and everything is being too predictable.
Demidov need to take his place and let the real skill do the work.

totally get it. I rationalize it as the crazy, passionate fringe governed purely by emotions. lol. We love everyone.
If we lose, and finish that close to a playoff spot and appear ahead of schedule for the rebuild, I hope we and management (mostly them ;) )
are very clear eyed about what's missing in the team build - especially with so much on the line...wether it's a rebuilt second line, a more physical 4th line, better, support vets etc...

This is why it's so important for them to make the playoffs, even if they get swept. Its a massive step in the teams evolution!
agreed. I want to grab onto the hope that comes with the hurricanes resting key elements tonight, but that may also mean we get hungry youngsters. Habs have been playing some pretty exhausting hockey to make it this far. The adrenaline is running low and some players probably have injuries we havent heard about.

Dont worry
no one will be able to post the server will die till Oct

Caps have certainly overachieved if that was their only goal lol. 1st in the East, 2nd in the whole league.
im sure its not their only one, but i feel they may be a little less driven now. Id rather play them than the hurricanes, for example

How's that different from any other day

I agree with everything you said however we do differ when it comes to Demidov or any other young talent. You play the hot hand when its hot, you don't play a cold, struggling vet and hope he comes up with a big game or big shift!
hey its cool man, i see it differently - you are right that Demidov was hot, but he has never had a game situation like this in the NHL before, so i dont think "hot" transfers here.

If Demidov had a half season with the habs under his belt and had even just 50 percent in shootouts during that time, then absolutely i would have put him in the shootout with the game he was having.

That being said, imagine the hype and the story if demidov gets a shot and clinches for the habs in shootout.

A lot of vitriol at Marty and most of it is completely unjustified.

You will never find a perfect coach.. but think about what he's doing with Hutson and Demidov. Do you think any of our previous coaches would deploy them the way he has? They'd have to grind and learn rispek.
Right? I'm not a Marty fanboy by any means but Lane Hutson literally would have been a PP specialist sheltered minutes guy under any other regime.

Demidov probably starts on the 4th line for any past coach we've had recently.
