Hey I see it like this: we're in the mix as much as it is possible to be in the mix after blowing the first 30 games of the 82 game season. We're 10th in the NHL in pt% since Dec. 15th (51gp played + 1gp remaining)... Pretty impressive performance for this roster imo. Teams below us: CAR, EDM, FLA. The Habs showed a lot of character and spirit. No matter if our season extends for two weeks or not, it's been a great season to show where this team can go.Losing this game means we’re landing in that dreaded no man’s land spot — earning the worst of all no man’s land picks.

MSL showed he still has the ear and heart of the roster, Suzuki and Hutson showed they're made of serious top-of-the league stuff, Caufield is on 37 goals and is not shooting nearly as much as he could (which bodes well, I think), Anderson and Gallagher had a much better showing this year (raising their trade value from negative to maybe-positive), Newhook cannot possibly have a season this bad again, Evans as a PK and bottom6 anchor C locked down at an acceptable price.
It's been a good season. Hopefully they win tomorrow and earn even more self-belief. Next season will be important (and hopefully no more tank talk for years to come).

A week ago odds Colombus got in was 0.1%. But they 5 in a row including 2 against east best team. While we lost 4 in a row.

If they can't find the motivation to play a full 60 minutes with the season on the line, the rebuild is not over and more changes will have to be made.

lol that was definitely disappointing, but he gets a pass because it’s his first ever game in the NHL / with the team / we wouldn’t have even had the first 2 goals without him.
Hopefully nothing that can’t be fixed with some coaching and reps

1. Make it to playoffs
2. Miss the playoffs
Play Laine with Demidov and we will score and make it to the playoffs. Play Laine on the 4th Laine and we will not score enough goals, and we will miss the playoffs.
When Laine scores, Habs win. Just put him in the best position to score.
Add Xhekaj too, we need to play bigger, we need more courage. Put all in!

Looking at things objectively is in no way shape or form a loser mentality.
The Habs could’ve won the game against the Sens, Leafs, Chicago and tonight we have the Canes. They have a job to do, and that job is to get at the very least 1 point tonight - Columbus has been doing their job and won every game they’ve had to win the last 5 games.
There is nothing wrong with being critical of the team and recognizing this can be a learning experience for them either way.
