Good f'in riddance to this season. It's been real and it's been fun, but not real fun as they say. At least we have the draft to look forward to for the first time in a bit. And maybe July 1 UFA day? Perhaps a long summer break will help get the rancid stench of this season out of my nose. For the first time in my life I wanted them to lose for the draft position and I feel soiled now.

Back in the olden days, the last time we went into the last week out of the playoffs, I still watched every remaining game(I caught Sunday's game at the St. Louis airport), and that's not changing, go B's, beat New Jersey!!

It was a lousy season from beginning to end. From not firing Monty the minute they knew he had an under the radar deal, to the poor camp, to L' affaire de Swayman, to watching the two Canucks basically bomb to thee sell-off, it almost all stunk.

Still, I will miss most of those who will be absent until draft day. Enjoy your Spring and Summer. You helped make a lousy season almost tolerable.

The last time the Bruins were really in a position like this, they returned with new uniforms; a new GM; a new coach and a new captain. That kicked off the most successful era of Bruins hockey in my lifetime.

I really hope there’s a new era beginning next season and not just more of the same. Time for new faces and new ideas.

Brett Peterson is the assistant GM of the Florida Panthers and GM of the USMNT. He might make a good GM here, or Vaughn Karpan - assistant GM in Las Vegas. That might be where I would start, and I’d let them hire a new coaching staff and run the draft this year.

But there’s still one game left that I will miss because of work.

Just get this over with so we can all move on to better days ahead.

6-5 Loss...this will be unstructured pond hockey...Pasta with the Hatty. EL with 4 points to get to 50 for the year ...Lysell pops his 2nd ....Pasta goes bare chested on the ice after the game giving the hulk hogan "I can't hear" hand cupped to ear move ... Sway tosses a suitcase of $20s into the crowd making it rain to regain crowd support....
