Okay, time to man up. Blue Jackets want that last spot and doing all they can to take it.

General quarters , prepare to defend yourselves gentlemen. Ask for no quarter and give none. And Marty put Xhekal in the GD lineup. Hes meant for this.
If we don't clinch, MSL has to go. The PP is too bad and the team has been poorly dressed/bench managed for too long. I'm sure he's a great motivator but tactician he is not.

Martinberg leaving 55 in instead of 51 or Demidov on Saturday is inexcusable. Leaving Struble and Savard who've both been awful instead of Arber is inexcusable. Any other market and the media would be calling for his head

I love the hyperbole, recency effect panicking, small sample size extrapolations, calls to fire whoever, non sequiturs, general craziness — it’s entertainment, live and let live. If I’m looking for something more serious, there are other options.

:m-dance::m-dance::m-dance:

I personally find it exhausting, but to each their own. I agree that some of the negativity is warranted and funny and entertaining at times, the levity can be most welcomed. It's just that it's a constant avalanche of negativity by many without reprieve around here no matter what the team does, or how they play. Some are never satisfied, and the takes are completely unreasonable to this roster or it's coach.

The bi-polar swings are nauseating, there needs to be some middle ground based in reality imo or wtf are we even doing here?

I have a very very very bad feeling about next 3 days.
It's better to come to terms about the possibility of them missing the playoffs, especially if they lose both the remaining games in regulation and fail to obtain 2 points. If they make it, great! If they don't, whatever.

Sucks that we might waste Demidov's first year where he might play 0 games.

If he plays under 9 I think the ELS slides to next year

What? He's 100% playing. He didn't come to not play. He literally has a clause in his contract to go back if he's not playing.

Not true. Usually I have a bad feeling. THis time I have a very very very bad feeling.
Haha. I am quite convinced that CBJ is going to win out, so we need to win tomorrow vs CHI. I get nervous playing a team like CHI that is playing free and with nothing to lose.

Tomorrow will be our toughest game of the year.

He's a good developer, and probably would be great as a head of player development somewhere, or coaching rebuilding teams like the Habs.

But he's a terrible motivator based on the past week.

Nope...

The ELC starts this year, which allows Demidov to join the Canadiens immediately. There will be no first-year slide, as he’ll turn 20 before December 31 of this year, so he’s ineligible for that and will burn the first year by joining the Habs for their playoff push. This will accelerate the timeline for his next deal, which could be good or bad for the Habs cap-wise depending on how he performs.

Looking at the glass half full. If they clinch, they’ll have needed Demidov to get there. He’s not a guy parachuted into the playoffs.

So, Habs did not practice today?... cause there is literally nothing they could possibly try and improve? Looks like just an optional skate... Demi, Hutson... not sure who else. Probably Arbs.

Just played back to back they were never gonna practice today tbf

Fwiw I actually think we will win tomorrow despite my doomer-posting. In fact, I think we have a good shot of winning going away like 5-1 or something. That said, the possibility of us missing would be so embarrassing it can't help but be present in your mind.

I guess I'm the only one excited that this game will actually mean something ? The stakes being what they are also means that we're going to get high off that Demidov and playoff hit if they win tomorrow. I've been in withdrawal since 2021.

You're not the only one, can't wait for tomorrow's game.

I've been waiting for those do or die game for 3 years now.

Ok, so he might get 1 game in just to clear that one clause that "allows him" to go back if he isn't playing in the NHL (the KHL season is done, so he can't really go back right now anyway). There was one tweet about it with no details to the exact conditions for that to kick in.

So we could potentially burn 1 year for 1 game.

I'd rather we didn't, but I'm not going to be blind to the fact that we could well miss the playoffs at this rate, seeing how the team has played lately (and yes, even during wins).

They’ve looked out of gas for the last 5 games at least. They’ve had all season to practice, and work on things in game and at practice. I’d rather them get any rest they can get at this point. We know this team *is* capable of hanging with the best of them (swept the Cup Champs for example). They’re useless when they’re all fatigued and battling injuries lol
