It has alternated between close to real Cup contender and first round exit. Right now they have to improve or it’s the latter.

Gonna turn this off. Team has 0 will to play 5v5 except for our 1-line team's 1 line. Can't wait til Zibanejad gets 0 ESP in the playoffs.

You need a player who can score on the third line actually. And you need someone who can dominate at 5v5 on your top line.

That would solve a lot.

The truly smart thing to do would be to shop Mika and add assets for a young center and upgrade at 5v5, even if you lose some PP production.

This has also been a problem for multiple head coaching tenures.

Would be nice if the 1C wasn’t a teddy bear at 5v5. He’s soft. He feasts on the PP. He’s not a playoff performer.

When he puts up another stinker this postseason it will be beyond arguing. Yes he’s well rounded but he’s not capable of dominating high end competition at crunch time.

And to be fair, not many can. But the elite teams have a 1C who can, for the most part.
