If Habs win, Columbus is eliminated no matter what they do. Even if we tie in points we have the tiebreaker advantage based on a higher ROW.

You are right, except the first tie breaker is RW, not ROW. It's the RWs Columbus wouldn't be able to catch up to, if Habs win one in regulation, giving us both an assured tie in points and the tie breaker at the same time. Same if they lose in regulation.
