Significantly better. I get that the scoreboard is what ultimately matters, but the Caps had chance after chance, including some of high quality, the last fifteen minutes of the period.

I know fancy stats aren't always trusted, but natural stat trick had all chances at 14-7 and high danger 5-1 favor Caps that period. And that matches the eye test for me. Unfortunately, the scoreboard test says that the finish is lacking at the moment.

Lindgren didn't anticipate that sequence happening. As a goalie you should always have your head on a swivel and following the play at all times. Maybe it's just my mindset as a goalie that you should anticipate mistakes from your own teammates and be ready at any notice. Wilson appeared to just flat out not catch that pass clean and Fantilli quickly capitalized on it.

Season is over folks! There is no way to defend how poorly they have been playing. Part of this falls on Carbery! He has been too casual with the team on how they have approached this last month of the season before the playoffs start! It might be time to be real that the Caps extremely over achieved this season.
