It's funny that people were complaining that we added "too many" forwards in the offseason when someone as objectively trash as Kostin continues to get minutes.

2 glaring things there is very clearly a leadership problem in that locker room the difference in urgency between lines is mind numbing second Woofsofsky is out of his depth

It has become painfully obvious why we got Kostin for nothing last year. He has been very very bad. He consistently will attempt the same toe-drag to beat a defender, which fails about 50% of the time and takes him completely out of the transitioning play the other way. If he does beat the defender, he will then attempt a further dangle, which will fail a vast majority of the time, or he will lob a pass directly into the center of the ice to no one in particular until the defending team finds the puck and transitions out of the zone. In the rare case that he dangles twice and doesn't give the puck away in one of the above manners he will then miss the net or shoot it into the chest of the goalie.

On the forecheck he is too slow to react with his frame to actually body anyone. He's behind where the puck is in the skates and is hitting guys that aren't going to cough up the puck. On the rare case he does win the puck back, see the above except in this instance he favors the immediate lob to no one in the center of the ice.

Sharks are on a power play and it feels like they are spending most of it in the defensive end. I am really close to already getting rid of Warsofsky if this is what they practice.
You could do that but it's doubtful it would amount to much. If Toffoli and Eklund are on the ice for three goals against and Thrun and Thompson for two, it's likely just them being overmatched. They play faster and the Sharks are a slow team that doesn't have crisp puck movement.

Look at the leaders on this team:
- Ferraro - would be lucky to be a bottom pair Dman on an average team. Has had the club constantly blow smoke up his ass about how good he is.
- Sturm - When the message all off-season has been about how it's a new group and energy, he comes out and public says "It feels like last year". He has to later clarify that's not what he meant.
- Kunin - "My team is struggling? I'll fight because that'll help".

They look like a beer league team tonight - slow, sloppy, constantly caught motionless and puck watching in the defensive zone.

Looks like Warsofsky has too much Quinn in his coaching game. They needed a fresh voice.

Basically the only thing Kostin is good at is standing and shooting from the slot.

Yeah and he's not the only acquired forward that isn't pulling their weight. I'd rather give these spots to developing young players if we're going to continue to be this sort of awful.

This team is consistently playing Luke Kunin and Klim Kostin and a bunch of other 4th liners, of course they're terrible

No one should be surprised that this team is bad

AAR playing at the Kings stadium

LA really is the worst city in America

So I kinda want to take Toffoli or Eklund off the Granlund line. That line just does not have good puck retrieval when Eklund isn't at his max level.

Dellandrea-Granlund-Toffoli
Zetterlund-Wennberg-Gushchin
Eklund-Goodrow-Kunin
Sturm-Grundstrom
Bench Kostin

That and the entire blue line isn't doing well either. Nobody can handle the puck in their own zone. It's why I want to swap Cagnoni with Thrun.
