I grew up hating the Islanders. Their dynasty coincided with when I began loving hockey and the Rangers. I don’t know if I could ever hate any athlete again the way I hated Potvin. It is all formative for me.

The Islanders tried to deke me and make me hate them less by sucking for many years. Then they were pretty good recent years but I never pitied them when they were down and they will never suck enough for me to feel bad for them. Potvin sucks forever and may the Isles squirm in never ending torment and irrelevance.

While that's absolutely true, let's not pretend like the kid didn't bring some of this to himself as well with the way his last stint with us went down.

It was funny at first, but I'm genuinely feeling bad for Kravtsov now because he can't even get into a rhythm because of these injuries. Whether or not those injuries are bad luck or because of his conditioning I don't really care, the end result is the same, him missing games.

And nothing against Gauthier, but I'd rather watch a clueless Kravtsov and hope he can figure it out at some point than Gauthier who we all know isn't the type of player this roster needs.

It's a shame about Kravtsov. He's a year behind. He shoudl have been learning about playing in the world's best league last year and come more prepared this year. Now he's still behind. Too bad he ran home. A handful of games at Hartford and a lot would be better now.
