And guys like Vesey, Goodrow, etc, are no great shakes but they are on par with what other teams have who are way better than us at 5b5.

But they are not.

The 2/3 are not very good skaters

The others are 4th liner who can maybe move up if a top 9 gets hurt.


I think the actual talent, like all around offensive talent on this team in terms of moving up ice 5on5 is within like 4 skaters. Zbad, Panarin, Fox, Chytil (the former Kreider) with maybe Jones, Miller, who have a little bit of it, yet not enough. The rest kind of stink at generating anything going up ice. Once in the zone, Kakko, and at times Goodrow have some game.

No sorry, it is a problem. If Zibanejad or Panarin are rested during a break you play them for an offensive zone start instead of Gustav Rydahl.

Not singling you out here but this forum wastes A LOT of time concerning itself with people that are playing six or seven minutes a night. There's not a lot of difference between Carpenter and Rydahl and certainly not enough to shit on a coach for playing one and not the other. One of them has significant NHL experience and one has zero.

I'll give you Reaves, though. I'd much rather see a younger option there because he brings absolutely nothing to the team once it's out of the locker room.
