Honest question... do people really see progress in Slaf? I like the lad, looks like a very nice kid but man... he has 4th liner at best written all over him. There is just not one thing that he does well... what a terrible draft that was.

I think he has top 6 upside if handled properly. The question is- are they doing the best for this kid? I have serious doubts about the strategy they are using.

I honestly don't see how sending Slaf down will help him, I'd much rather he learn from MSL and far better teammates in Montreal. He's going to be fine, it's just growing pains.

Patches for evidence. Sometimes some AHL time just to work on stuff without playing against top talent.

The only thing he improved is that he does not get badly hit like in his first season.

No.

However, while other rookies did well last year there hasn't been much growth in their game, granted some have only played like 3 games.

This management seems rather inept already, but hopefully it's like one of those artist that makes a masterpiece upside down so you see garbage and then BAM what a plan !
