What an odd description of Stuart Skinner from Joaquin Gage. He described him as a positional goalie who uses his size well, swallows up rebounds and is an elite puck tracker. I can’t remember the last time I heard such nonsense. These are the exact three things he gets criticized for the most. I’m surprised he didn’t say he was great moving the puck too. I’ve never had an opinion of Gage as a commentator one way or another in the past but he’s been down right embarrassing the last two times I’ve seen him interviewed during the intermission.
Well he is a big positional goalie, the rest is just fluff. But realistically what would you expect him to say.

Except, it’s the same number of games for every team. So this only applies to old, slow teams.
I think it shortens the careers of many and the wear and tear is often felt in the post retirement years.

The other solution would be to eliminate the pre-season because the hockey is virtually unwatchable.

IMHO the regular season is way too long. It will never happen, but 70 games would be better and would probably prolong the careers of guys who are north of 30.

Some of the Oilers are on the downslope but will still be a force in the playoffs.

And end the season the first week of June at the latest.

Sure. But these aren’t old timer games we’re watching..

The Sharks have no business being in this game. The lack of finish this year is whats holding the team back. Its a problem thats outlived the injury issues.
