Should be light work for the Habs. They've dominated Ottawa all season and they have a chance to clinch tonight so you know they'll be flying.

Also expecting them to target Stutzle all game with no response.

Even with a loss, our WC1 odds are 86.5% (a win is 96.7%). Surprised, because a regulation loss means we’d only be up 1 point on them for it. Maybe they’re basing it off the remaining schedule for each team?

Hence it would have been an opportunity to give Stu the night off for this one.

I would have also rested Sanderson-Zub and played Gilbert-Hamonic in this one.

Senators only have 12 healthy forwards available, so they can't rest anybody up front.

Maybe they could go 11-7.

I don't know the cap implications, but if Cousins is back, then they have 13 forwards at the moment (not sure if they have put Tkachuk on IR officially yet), so Stutzle would be 13th with Cousins coming in for him (and Crookshank remaining on Line 4).

On Defence they are carrying 8 anyway, so no cap implications on that for Green to make the switch and give Pair 1 rest tonight and Chabot-Jensen another while giving Gilbert some games and feels with Hamonic.

Ottawa is at home and have a 3 point lead. So a lot has to go right for Montreal to pass. If can be done for sure, but they have to keep winning is all. They would still be in 8th with a win so Ottawa has the advantage

A thing to keep in mind is that we have them edged on tiebreaker, so they actually need to pass us by a point.

Cousins won’t return tonight, crookshank is shown on the NHL.com lineup.

I would have also rested Jensen. But no need to rest healthy players yet. A week is plenty of rest for the guys still in their 20’s. Better to work on the chemistry with Stu and Zetterlund. I’d rest Giroux and Jensen the last three games.

I dunno man these guys are clicking. They are gonna be a tough playoff matchup for sure. Agree 100% with just stay healthy today. Hoping for a win though!
