On the Habs goal Slafkovsky made an excellent forecheck, hit & puck steal to get it set-up. No points but the guy is a beast along the boards.

Caufield at net front picking up the rebound of a Matheson shot - who finally f***ing hit the net.- and picked up his 1st point in like a month.

A much more evenly played period.

Hutson also made a great play to start the passing play. A true 5 man unit goal...

By the way on Matheson's wrister at the end of the last pp his shot was going on net, but deflected. Would have to see the replay on the slapper.

He has a really strong shot. He needs to shoot for rebounds more rather than shoot to score. When he keeps it on net at the pads it creates rebound opportunities like on the Caufield goal.

And, yes, his shots get blocked a lot.

Too much Roy and Price. Monty is smack middle-of-road who’ll have the rare game like this.

The last few cup champs have won with this level of goalie. A strong top 6 and a stable defense are the key to success and not a 10 million dollar goalie.

In a universe where they are rebuilding, us having the assets, and McAvoy wanting to play with Hutson.

They have Pasta, McAvoy and Swayman, all the pieces needed for a retool, don’t see why they would move one of the hardest piece to obtain, a #1 RD under 30. With their high pick this season they can get a upcoming #1C and go from there, plus they are a good market for UFA.
