I dont think so. He kept an eye on the future and development. He was the best AHL coach weve had in a long time, and he kept it up in the big league. He created solutions to problems that our GM just wouldnt solve with personnel upgrades. I respect that.

He will have success wherever he goes next.

he was badly outcoached in the playoffs against Vegas then followed that up with a 2-9-1 start in 2023-24
he was lucky to get a healthy and productive Kane when he did

No kidding. I get why many are down on the team, it's been a shitty regular season all things considered, but saying that McDavid might sign elsewhere is a pessimistic step way too far.
