I wish O-Rod a great game tonight. I hope the team plays hard in front of him. Would be really nice for his first start to be a win that clinched a playoff spot.

Cheap Bill Hunter got him on firesale. Jacques Plante, seriously around age 50, was a jump the shark moment even at that time. Oddly enough it even sold tickets. IR only opens up a roster spot not salary.

It would need to be LTIR to open up cap.

its my understanding that they could but mcdavid is probably more ready than kane

whoever was going to sit for kane would have to have missed enough time to qualify for ltir though, mcdavid would i think if he missed a bit more

I also wonder if there is a good book on the details of the wha / bill hunter era.

I've always been fascinated by how much and the quality of hockey players and people weaved through little ol' Edm AB on the way. The list is phenomenal and I encourage anyone to research.

I for one would love - and contribute to - a WHA thread. We have a lot in common going back to the old Edmonton Gardens!
