Surely we aren't going to finish out the season now, riding these same vets that tanked it in the first place, for 18+ mins a night, right?

Surely we'll give actual minutes to the future now, right? And actual PP1 time to a group of young guys with something to prove (who can't possibly be any worse than what we've been subjected to lately, anyway).

Surely, right?

Right?
Surely you jest? Right?

That's such a weird way to view things.

The guy wanted to get paid. So did I when I worked. You can complain about his play or contract, but I cannot fault or personal attack any player for going after as much money as they can get.

Again, so many fans and people associated with sport look at things through such a weird lens.

You have a guy like Messier, who is one of the dirtier attempt to injure players in NHL history. Mr leave his feet blindside headhunter. And he gets a TV desk job and a leadership award.

Yes, Igor is a more disgusting individual than this guy:

If you want to get paid the most in NHL history play up to your contract.

It looked like Laf’s stick might have accidentally caught the linesman’s leg, hard to tell based on the angle.

Once we scored a pp goal, off a skate no less, you knew any tiny chance of seeing 94 start a PP this year was up in smoke.

For all his faults I gotta give Lavi full marks for insisting on going down with the ship, good man

Also Laf needs a reboot. You’re 5 feet from the net in the low slot and you try to pass it through a prone defenseman who is basically lying on top of the puck. But then he’ll throw the puck on net from 30 feet away, instead of dumping it in just to show he gets pucks on net

Laf did catch the linesman's skate accidentally. This is speculation, but I feel like the ref might have said something accusatory like "you tripped him!" to which Laf said some sort of expletive (according to Joe?) which got him the penalty, as the ref's arm comes up after Laf says something.

As far as Lavi going down with the ship, didn't someone say Lavi wasn't even going to the locker room post game? Or was that a joke?

Unless the standard for Igor is be Dominik Hasek all the time, I really don't understand how you can blame him for that loss last night.

That 1st period of hockey by the f***faces in front of him was an asbolute abomination. Seriously the worst and most disgusting hockey i've ever seen. Me and my crew were ready to walk out of the game at that point.

yeah they got better in the 2nd periods but certainly not to the point where you can say they "should have won" that game in any fashion. some B-B+ chances, but mostly one and done. that was after already blowing the game in one of the worst periods of hockey any team will play in the season.

f*** all of them.....

Regardless, I was being sarcastic that he's not budging off using the vets ad nauseum to try to maintain a locker room that he might or might not even be attending to

Your question, and the only topic in your post I replied to, asked "Is there a more disgusting individual to wear a Rangers jersey in history than the goalie?"

I gave a simple answer with a video - and there were other easy players I could've used - of Messier intentionally headhunting one vulnerable guy after the next, including blindside knocking the lights out of such 'dirty' opposition as Mike Modano and Denis Savard.

I merely answered your question.

If I understood John correctly:
- Laf chirped the ref from the bench (stupid)
- the ref chirped back which included the "you don't have to be a blankety blank" (really stupid for the ref to ever chirp back)
- Laf then game him another earful on the ice
- ref calls penalty against Laf

Maybe this gets Laf angry and he finishes the last few games strong. Or he goes to A Minecraft Movie and yells "chicken hockey" causing all hell to break loose.

The last time someone said, "Laf scored a nice goal, let's see if he builds off that.." in the Laf thread, he's 0 points, -1, 12 minutes in PIMS, and 7 shots in those 4 games. Probably best not to hold your breath.

That has almost nothing to do with what I replied to.

Your question, and the only topic in your post I replied to, asked "When taking into account the contract that he insisted on is there a more disgusting individual to wear a Rangers jersey in history than the goalie?"

I gave a simple answer with a video - and there were other easy players I could've used - of Messier intentionally blindside headhunting and deliberately injuring one vulnerable guy after the next, including 'dirty' opponents like Mike Modano and Denis Savard.

I merely gave an answer to your question. Otherwise, why'd you ask?

For me, a guy wanting to get paid isn’t in the same galaxy as a guy intentionally and repeatedly throwing hits that could end players’ careers and lead to permanent health issues.
