Because he back checked hard after being in terrible position to support Lafreniere who was facing his own net? Laf is facing his own net, skating towards it, with no outlet, and you have that Cone Brodzinski just sitting in front of the net as if Laf can make magic happen. Laf drops it expecting a teammate to be there supporting him. Nope. Brodzinski is the dumbest player on the ice

Same reasoning. Trouba goes off for Lindgren. Lindgren becomes LD and Miller becomes RD. Then Miller can get off easier.

I don't know if other teams have such a hard problem changing their D in the 2nd periods, but I've noticed we get caught a lot with the split pairs pinned in our end. A lot of the issues seem to be because we don't get the puck deep enough to change both guys at once.
