Jets are 6-4 in their last 10 and just lost to Utah 4-1 last night. They aren't exactly punching their ticket as the Central champs. We still have a decent chance, that's all I'm saying.
You're arguing results, which obviously are ultimately what matters. But happening to lose 4 games while outplaying the team your losing to, or at the very least losing an evenly played game, is much different than getting dominated by every team you play and happening to win.
The jets even last night against Utah were the better team.
Go look at the jets last 4 losses and see how often they are actually outplayed or even out shot, or out shot by a 2-1 margin.
Since March 9th the jets haven't given up more than 29 shots in a game (14 total games)
Since March 9th the stars have had 4 games where they've allowed less than 29shots (14 total games)
Since Feb 1st,
We've averaged 25 shots for and 33 against
The jets
27 for and 25 against
The sharks ( who have 5 wins in that time)
Averaged 27 for and 29 against.
Sure there's something to be said for the shot quality, but constantly hemorrhaging shots against is not an encouraging sign.
Giving up 40 to the garbage ass wild is a very bad sign.
And as you shorten the frame the stars look worse and worse.
They are winning in spite of being absolute dog shit on the ice.
The jets are losing in spite of still playing decent hockey
