Post-Game Talk: GAME 75 - Losing streak at 9 - second longest in franchise history - Washington 4 BRUINS 3

I put this on the OT thread also, but since many here don't look at it thought I would put it here too.

Last night, David Pastrnak and Nikita Zadorov greeted Maxim Naumov, the 23-year-old American figure skater who recently lost his parents and Skating Club of Boston coaches Zhenya and Vadim in the tragic plane crash earlier this year in Washington.
Maxim took part in last week’s ISU World Figure Skating Championships and received a lengthy standing ovation from the crowd at TD Garden.
Stay strong, Maxim!

Dude Pasta is FN jacked! No wonder he's throwing his weight around more this year!

Lysell's got to earn something. Produced nothing in 5 games so far this year and he's got the type of game that needs to produce to be in the lineup. I'm rooting for him but he's got to pull a little weight.
Agree. When tou are tanking, moved core players, let the season go away and you are a young gun, the fact that your are not in the line up tells it ALL. He has not shown anything special.......... and that is on him.

Theres no reason to sit lysell.

This is literally the exact situation where you can give your marginal prospects loads of ice time to figure it out and it can’t hurt you if they’re bad.

I don’t care that he’s pointless, you need reps at this level to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
Agree. but man Lysell is absolutely not challenging any spot.
He is there simply by default

No playoffs this year. Early off season. Early draft pick. Lots of time and a little extra cap space coming. Let's let management (Sweeneely or not) make some moves, get a top tier prospect from the draft and hire a new up and coming coach (Donskov please?) Let all of that happy horse shit happen and then we'll see what the Bruins look like next season. No reason to believe they're gonna be this same bottom feeder next year. Book it.

Lol
The Bruins should be dressing players focused on the Future.

Viel is a 4th line plugger at best who you can dress against certain teams, loves what he brings when it’s needed, but him Beecher and Brown all should sit before Lysell for the remainder of the season.
Yeah he is - and has identical production as Lysell in Providence and in Boston this year. What does that say about Lysell making the most of his opportunities to earn a spot?

And how long has Brown been a professional? He has maxed out what he is. Lysell has played 5 games in the NHL. Lysell has basically 1 and a half seasons in the AHL. There is an opportunity for him to grow. While I am not 100% positive he will make it, certainly at this time of year is the perfect opportunity to see what he has.

Another guy Potrias has been a point per game player since going down to the AHL. Yet again the jags are still playing. He’s another that should be up and playing the remaining games.

I mean if they can give Lauko second line duty while not having scored a damn goal since his arrival and only 3 goals all season I think they could be more lenient with giving Lysell more time to adjust to the pro game.

Second longest losing streak in franchise history is nuts. The injuries are making it worse than it is, but man it still ain't good.
From the best regular season record in NHL history, to the second longest losing streak in franchise history just two years apart is friggin crazy

Not sure how ripping guys who have all been more productive than Lysell is some kind of argument in favor of Lysell.

It works for me. The first 2 games I attended at the gaahden (mid 50's) were Bruins MTL)
I was in the same boat, I had a neighbor who would take me in the garden and only Montreal games in the mid 50s, and the clincher was he never root for the Bruins, and as a young kid in the Garden, you can't tell me that wasn't an experience. haha...... I will also tell you he had the coolest Habs jacket hanging in his closet

Are you new to hockey? How many older players are top scorers in the AHL not on an NHL team? You know who is one. Old friend Seth Griffith who is 3rd in scoring in the AHL. Would you call him a top prospect because of his stat line? There are such things as veteran AHL players that do have stat lines better than some younger inexperienced players. I don’t think anyone would trade Lysell for Seth Griffith because of their AHL stats

And how many younger players stick in the NHL without producing or filling a role?

You were right that this is his chance to show what he has, and the point is he needs to start converting. I'm rooting for him to figure it out.
