Post-Game Talk: GAME 75 - Losing streak at 9 - second longest in franchise history - Washington 4 BRUINS 3

Habs are my second team . I'm hoping they make the playoffs

I hear what you're saying, but it rings hollow when Oliver Wahlstrom got 17 games and Brown/Letteri literally cleared waivers yesterday and still were in the lineup over him.

There's no point not to play him whether you think he's good or not.
I mean Brown and Letteri both out produced him in Providence too though.

I guess I'm just stating the obvious - that when a kid like him gets this kind of opportunity he needs to figure out a way of converting on it. Merkulov got 6 games and ran into similar trouble.

You realize that over the last 5 games (of which Lysell only played 4) that Lysell at 5v5 is tied in SOG among all Bruins. He ranks 2nd in individual expected goals with a 0.71 ixG and trailing only Pastrnak 0.74 ixG. He's also tied for 1st on the team in individual high danger chances.

FF% - 2nd
SF% - 2nd
GF% - 2nd
xGF% - 2nd

^That's among all Bruins at 5v5 over the last 5 games.
"expected goals" is exactly the problem with him right now. But I'm rooting for him and hope he takes the next step to "actual goals".

If the Bruins have their top two d in the line up they win more than they lose in some of these games.

They both are that good.
Agree both are top pairing dmen and with them the Bs likely are in the play-off picture

But that still leaves them a long way from being a Cup contender. Unless and until they make major additions at forward- and do so without weakening their D- we are in for some frustrating times

Would it kill Sleepy Joe Sacco to try Lindholm and Mittelstadt on the same line? Is there some contract clause that says Elias Lindholm must play center? They've only lost 9 in a freakin' row, maybe loading up down the middle and leaving the wing position a wasteland isn't working.

But you know what, I legitimately don't think Joe Sacco is smart enough for that. He's basically been on cruise-control when it comes to his lines since deadline day.

I don’t understand having “second teams” in general, but this? This is like declaring yourself a vegetarian but saying you enjoy a nice, rare steak once a week.

It just doesn’t work.
It works for me. The first 2 games I attended at the gaahden (mid 50's) were Bruins MTL)

I don't think Lysell will turn out to be much of an NHL player. Just another one of DS's possible 4th liners that we have plenty of. I do not think DS will make the correct pick even if we draft 5th, just not in his DNA.

Time to find someone who can select players that are really potential top 6 players.

You mean who ever are the Stars or Wings Amateur Scouts?

I mean there has been an increase in short handed goals due to Pasta being on the point, and times when he actually moves up near the net he scores more. It’s apparent and Sacco is too busy thinking he is smarter than everyone else because Pasta is no longer in the same spot waiting for one timers. No one has been able stop him over the years but that has been lost on the coach. He really can’t be gone soon enough for me. Like before he gets to the locker room on the last day of the season.

To aid in the tank, what else?
Not really. Jags are there because they know systems pretty well and know responsibilities. They just lack talent. Where a younger green rookie that is talented may miss assignments, may not be in the right position, etc. causing goals to be scored against

That is 100% why you are seeing close games but still losses. Sacco is using the Jags to minimize mistakes and hopes they catch a break on an opponent and squeeze out a win

I don't hate Montreal like I used to. They've got some fun, young players there. Hutson is f***ings special.

I hate the players more than I hate the jersey they wear. The Habs of 10-15 years ago were as unlikable as they come. They were right up there with Vancouver for my two most hated teams of that era.

I can't comprehend how any hockey fan can't enjoy watching Lane Hutson play if he isn't playing your team.

The only reason to sit Lysell and not use Lindholm\Mittelstadt together is tank related
not a doubt in my mind.

There's no doubt, the Bruins are in overdrive when it comes to tank mode. This has me wondering who Sweeney has targeted if anyone in specific, but the way he's thrown all his chips in, tells me there's someone he's really hoping they can get if they fall far enough, other than Misa and Schaefer. Or maybe the Jacobs have cashed their chip into Bettman on getting the Number one overall. :sarcasm:

Years ago (when I was working) a friend from work used to buy my seats once in a while as his little guy loved sitting there.

Now his "little guy" is a college graduate and taller than me. He came and said hi last night and before had met someone out front and got a photo with him.

Tuukka also came down by the bench last night and said HI.

The second video was when he was young . It was featured on the Jumbotron years ago.
