Post-Game Talk: GAME 75 - Losing streak at 9 - second longest in franchise history - Washington 4 BRUINS 3

Second longest losing streak in franchise history is nuts. The injuries are making it worse than it is, but man it still ain't good.

Be nice to get an effort win or for sway to steal one here soon but I won't bet on it

Can’t say I’m disappointed by the result, but what I did like was Swayman really battled in this game.

He made a lot of big saves and gave them a chance. I honestly thought he deserved the win over their goalie tonight. Just a huge gap in offense talent between the two teams. Thought Lysell should’ve played tonight.

If they really want to right this ship quickly in the coming seasons, Swayman has to be better. There’s no other option.
That’s the scary thing for me. Can Swayman get back to being a #1 goalie? I’ve been so surprised to see him whiff on shots he has a clear look at with no obstructions.

I believe with a better d core and a coach who gets them playing any kind of system again he can. It can honestly be as basic of improvement that he just gets back to .915 on the year… doesn’t need to be .925. Just start there haha.

If he doesn’t, it doesn’t matter what else they do.. they’re screwed.

I think we all have to understand this is not a one-year blip

Only Nash, Flames, and Sharks have scored few goals. Let's say SWay absolutely robs/steals 5 games.
We're going into Hab-land tied for the 8th seed with THIS lineup, with THIS prospect pool.

But sure Ovi standing alone with a tap-in needs to be stopped. Dowd's perfect snipe on 2 on 1, oh wait, lets talk his salary. Collosal defensive gaps take their toll. No SWay has not been Top 10. No goalie who ever played would be with this lineup. Look at Igor too. Terrible D-structure makes elite goalies look average. Ullmark terrible tonight ... outplayed by Reimer.

But sure lets embrace a future of the Korpi/Bussi tandumb.

A baker's dozen shorties given up for a shockingly pathetic PP. A shockingly pathetic PK. Both bad all season. THose, despite everything else, is the story of this pathetic season.

Hell, during the 4-Nations, how many here wanted Brady for Pasta straight up?

It was good to see Beecher with a pulse. Interested to see if Letteri becomes a 20-goal scorer somewhere else in the NHL. Veal parm with a gutsy scrap. Wow. Team played hard, it was good to watch for a while.

Meanwhile I’m stuck with this:

I will not watch a Sacco-coached team if he's here next year.

And none of Letteri, Beecher, Koepke, Brown, Viel, Mitchell, Wotherspoon or Callahan belong in the NHL. That "rush" by Beecher last night was definitive John Beecher. Instead of trying something to create space like pulling up quick or cutting back towards the boards, he continues on straight to the net, looses the battle and turns the puck over behind the net without even getting a scoring chance. Zero, and I mean zero, hockey sense. Useless player once the puck is dropped.

Don Sweeney has a A LOT of work to do and frankly this can't be fixed in one off-season, especially not when considering this year's UFA class is doggy-poo.
