Take it for what it's worth, but a long time friend of mine who works at the Bell Centre told me he overheard some Panthers players talking about how they're planning to go hard at Suzuki and Hutson tonight and how they don't care about the game tonight, but mostly about sending the habs organization a message.

I think MSL is making a huge mistake not dressing Xhekaj tonight, it will be a bloodbath.

Any teams game plan is to go hard against the opposing team's star players. Shutting down the good players always gives you a good chance to win.

With a bit of luck tonight we could comfortably put the Isles and Wings behind us.

If we win and they both lose in regulation, then we'd have a 5 point lead on them with all of us having 8 games remaining. So even if we finished off the season 4-4-0, then they'd need to go 6-1-1 to catch us.

Having a #1 AHL team doesn’t mean any of them are actually NHL worthy …. just goes to show the wide gap between AHL vs NHL
It's usually a good indication that you might have at least 2-3 NHL quality prospects. It's not always the case but it's still a good way to gauge unless obviously you filled the team with vets and don't have any prospect on it (which is not our case).

If you take all AHL champ from 2006 (after the lockout) to 2019 (covid) here's the u23 prospects they had who did good at the NHL level. Not much super star in it obviously cause super stars very rarely play in the AHL for long. I skipped some guys who became 4th liners, strickly defensive 3rd pairing dmen and 2nd goalies.

this is slightly OT but if i become a sponsor and pay the $12/year, does that remove all of the ads and pop-up ads that make this site unbearable to navigate? or is there another way?

A little off topic but....Anyone else hear that Fowler is opting to play another year at Boston college which would make him a FREE AGENT!

I'm sure its a tactic to get a NHL contract and be a UFA sooner ala Hutson. Better not lose this kid for nothing

An extra year in college doesn't take him to free agency. That doesn't happens until August 2027.
