Sit the "older core" (a/k/a star players) and play the ones who deserve the ice time? Really -- Dolan won't have it. And therein lies your problem.....this whole "change of culture" thing will last only as long as Dolan lets it. And we know patience is not one of his virtues (if he has any)

I truly think the line in the sand has been drawn more for Drury than Lavi, but Lavi is gonna support his boss and that's what's caused him to lose the room.

Lavi is a career coach. There's not much he hasn't seen or done. Guys like him will work as long as they want, as long as they do one thing.

Don't make your boss look bad.

You can't go behind his back and support a coup. That will not only get you fired, it will get your resume sent to the shredder.

That's what happened with Mike Keenan. Great coach. Unique style. Always got another job until the book on him was that he was always going to go his GMs back and want more control over everything. Once the word get out that he's gonna try to get you fired, there only one defense for that. Don't hire him.

So Lavi may have lost the respect of this group, but he's a career coach. There will be another group.
