Game 73 : Oilers @ Kraken

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Talk about sustained pressure from us for a change. Well, that was fun. Wish we start to make a habit of it.

And, once again, out of the blue, the dam explodes and we suddenly have a 5-1 lead. Crazy stuff.

And I don't get that at all. McCann has such a good release and shot. But this season he has just been passing the puck a lot or takes too long and does not really one-time it. Confidence? Injury? Both?
After the good start that he had, I think his decline must be injury related. Nothing else makes sense to me.

McCann’s monthly splits. Kinda all over the place. Guess I missed the 12 point January, maybe because it’s all Assists?

Yeah, wow. After starting with 10 goals in the first 25 games, he's on a 32 goal pace for the season. However, from the start of December to the present, he only scores 7 goals in 47 games, a 13 goal pace. Definitely something wrong somewhere.

The 20% shooting percentage is on the high side but it’s not so crazy you think it’d fall off THAT much as a correction?

I don't know. But it is kind of surreal that we trail the Boston Bruins in the standings by only one point.

I would very much doubt they end up that high. I know stranger things have happened but off the remaining 10 games left on our schedule, only the Sharks and Utah are not already in the playoffs or fighting for a spot. Utah is 8 points from the WC2 spot and are unlikely to make it but they still have 9 more points than us with fewer games played. Also, our team has already shown that they can lose to San Jose.

Well, we won easily against Edmonton and are just one point behind the next two teams.

It was a fun game for the fans and that's all that matters.

Though, I just have a feeling this team will somehow pick up enough points to finish in that 7 . 9 range in terms of lottery odds.
