we're not winning shit with him imo. Nothing has changed this year. We had the same issues last playoffs but we were lucky that mcdrai popped off.

It's not going to happen this year and we're not going to stay healthy in playoffs, even if we survive a couple of rounds.

This team has no ability to wear their opponents down after a long series and mitigate them getting bullied.

The 2018-2021 team had some tough customers, and even when we sucked, we were in some pretty intense and famous BOA. There was a stretch of 3 years when every BOA had multiple fights. The 2022-2024 Oilers were a top 3 team in every analytical category except goaltending , including the leagues best offense, PP, and a top 3 forecheck.
This team is so….blegh. The superstars, Hyman, and a whole bunch of retirement contracts. All that compounded by a coach with the intensity of a kindergarten teacher. So uninspiring to watch.

I legit posted this on Facebook yesterday saying as it stands right now we have no chance against Vegas or Jets. Some dude went nuts on me and called me f***ing stupid and went off. He also couldn't spell, so I said it was funny that he called me stupid. There are people that truly believe we can beat Vegas or The Jets, it's insane

I'm not saying we can't, and I'm not saying we can't catch fire, BUT as it is right now we can't even beat Calgary, or Seattle. Who in their right mind thinks we could beat the two best teams. Not happening

Unless they finally give me my chance. 38 year old rookie has a nice ring to it

Pickard I can’t crap on too much. He’s not supposed to be our number 1. Stinky stuey is.

I love when Bob staffer the other day was seeming to brag about how we are like the 3rd lowest salary for goalies.

That’s not a good thing Bob…given what we get…

See, I actually think the team is intentionally playing bad to give Knoblauch the message to give you your shot. That must be it.

The worst GM in the NHL paid 25 million dollars to the guy who was supposed to be the number 1 goalie. Unfortunately that goalie also happened to be the worst goalie in the NHL and instead of using his brain and getting Jack Campbell to LTRetire via the NHLPA Player Assistance program (and the posters here can't gaslight me with "you can't just send players to that" anymore, Detroit literally did it this year), Ken Holland spouted bullshit about how we need to "respect veterans and show compassion towards Jack". And Jack Campbell's buyout dead cap is still making it difficult for us to upgrade goaltending to this day.

Holland had a couple decent moves.

Mostly not great ones

And some terrible ones that will haunt us. Campbell right at the top of that list

We also have the third-worst tandem in the league for GSAx and probably a bunch of other metrics too. I think only behind Pittsburgh and Philly. And the Oilers have a way better defense in front of Pickard and Skinner than the two teams below them. In my heart of hearts I truly believe we have the worst goaltending in the entire league. Not just the worst coach, but two goalies who would be minor leaguers by now on 31 other teams even without Schwartz. Pickard was an AHL journeyman before Campbell fell apart. And Skinner's lateral movement, rebound control, general slowness, and horrific slumps tell me he'd have been demoted by any other team at certain points this season.
 
Only hope we have now is Kane/Frederic provide a huge spark to this team in the playoffs. Way too much uninspiring hockey being played right now
