GDT: Game 72: Habs @ Bunch of Jerks, Fri March 28th - 7 PM | TSN2, RDS

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

If we lose tonight, then it's shameful. It's damn frustrating to fall into a slump at a critical period of time.
I didn't think we had the team this year. So actually I think overall they've overachieved this year.

It is weird though that when we're on we can beat any team in the league with our speed, hustle, defensive game, and then mainly the first line carrying us with a little chipping in offensively from the other lines. Then when we're not on, any team in the league can beat us, even whipe the floor with us.

I think we rely on having 4 lines goint. And with Armia injured, the 4th line is MIA. Also, perhaps the high pace we play at isn't sustainable for more than 10 to 15 games.

If the team has a good training camp, not intimidated by scrubs, and in shape for the season, they would have been a playoff team. Specially if Laine had played a full season surrounded by folks working harder. As it turned out, the early injuries and the tardiness in fielding a hockey squad in shape pretty much tempered these expectations into a moderate amelioration.

I get that they wanted to achieve something with the guys they have, but not picking up depth was a big mistake. Now they can’t sit anyone or rest anyone. Not that a depth guy always helps, but sometimes they do.

If we just add just Demidov and a legit 2nd line center you will see a very different team and one that will be a playoff team.

Although disappointing right now, making the playoffs this year was a best case scenario, especially with this flawed lineup that doesn't have a 2nd line center.

Considering Pezz doesn't bring much and Marty doesn't trust him, I was hoping we'd take a flyer on a young depth piece from waivers or the trade market.

Carrier helped a lot. He wasn't there at the start of the year.

Adding Demidov, a rookie, to a country club would have the same tempered effect. The club needs to gain more discipline, regardless of the roster additions. I expect players to show up in top shape in order to be optimistic about a season. Otherwise, we may as well sticky the Tank thread.

This starts by having an amazing camp.

11 forwards and 7 dmen and we scratch the guy who's scored the same amount of goals as the entire 4th line combined since the break. I just don't get it.

It's 4D chess on a snakes and ladder board where you roll a dice with colours on it.

But on a serious boat if they start lackluster again it will be over before the 10 minute mark
